Teachers get workmen's come from stress illness
    MENTAL AND EMOTIONAL HEALTH

Workmen's Compensation: A teacher is bullied in a fearful environment by his administrator that causes extraordinary stress. He is also given 45 less minutes to teach the same subject as all the other teachers in his district, and does not receive the necessary training. This teacher is demeaned, ignored, yelled at, insulted until finally he has 2 leave of absences and uses up all his sick days. His diagnosis: work-related stress illness (severe depression) with 2 doctor reports and psych cognitive eval. All say severe depression (PTSD) and anxiety and unable to work. Could this teacher get workmen's comp? I am told that this is a mental on mental case, and that it will be very hard to prove. The administrator kept an environment of constant stress, of worry, and fearfulness of getting into trouble.

What is the best strategy for getting workmen's comp for him?

All of this has to be documented and the mental condition linked directly to this by doctor.

It is possible, but a case like this could perhaps take 5 to 7 year though the courts before any money is received.

Are the Dr. reports and diagnoses from personal physicians, or one appointed by the place of employment?

The first step you take is to get a good attorney who specializes in Workmans' Comp. They will know all the strategies involved.
