    Odd Lactation
Hi I am 23 years old and have had an odd secretion coming from both breasts for a year. One is White and the other is Grayish Green. What is that? I was on the pill for three years and quit taking them. I took a calcium supplement and 9 hours later had a slight itch on a nipple and realized it was wet. I don't understand. I went to the doctor and he gave me an antibiotic saying that I had mastitus... but it hasn't gotten better or gone away. Assistance Please?

Go back to that doctor and say you're still having problems, or get a second opinion. We can't see you and legally/ethically can't diagnose you, so you'll have to go to a real-life doctor for help.

Thanks. I'm planning on going elsewhere... But a general idea of what I could be dealing with would be helpful. ]

Have (or had) you been breastfeeding?

Did you take the full course of antibiotics?

    Do you have other symptoms?

    From mayoclinic.com --

With mastitis, signs and symptoms can appear suddenly and may include:

Breast tenderness or warmth to the touch
    Generally feeling ill (malaise)
    Swelling of the breast
Pain or a burning sensation continuously or while breast-feeding
Skin redness, often in a wedge-shaped pattern
    Fever of 101 F (38.3 C) or greater

I completed my antibiotics. And if those are the other symptoms associated with mastitis... Then I would say he was wrong. I only have the secretion

If there's green in the secretion, I'd be running to another doctor. Yesterday.

Please let me (us) know what happens. I've become very interested in this and am wondering what it could be.

Hello! Sorry it's been awhile. I went to the doctors and they did all kinds of testing including a sexually transmitted disease screening, which came back negative. He did say it's nothing to worry about. I have collapsed milk ducts which is typically seen in women who are going through menopause. I thought it was odd because I am not going through menopause but he reassured me that there was nothing to worry about.
