Replacement of a TXV Valve and A/H Coil
In April 2013, our condo had a fire in the attic, it was deemed uninhabitable since
This occurred 6 months ago. The contractor has just informed us now that the
TXV Valve and A/H Coil need to be replaced for the system to work properly.

Since our AC unit was working perfectly before this fire in the attic which is where our AC unit is situated. Could the heat from the fire have cause the TXV Valve to have a small restriction and cause a hole in the A/H coil?

The heat could have damaged the TXV but I doubt it. I also doubt the fire had anything to do with a hole in the coil. If it got hot enough to damage the TXV & coil, there would be damage to the fan & wiring as well.

Whirlpool dryer gas valve coil replacement - I found a small metal sleeve in the bottom of the dryer. It seems to fit the inside hole of the coils. Could it have fallen out of one of the old coils when I removed them. Should there be another one since I only found one?
