I''m in Illinois too. The DMV database covers the entire state, not just each county independently, so yes, your name has probably been flagged.

I may be wrong. I found this --
"If you’re curious about what’s contained on your criminal record, or if you manage a business and need to run a criminal record check on an applicant, the process for conducting background checks is easy. Especially online, where you’ll find a variety of options.
Keep in mind the [criminal] information will be restricted to the county you’re searching in. This means if say you’re searching in Cook County, Illinois, the report will only contain criminal information for Cook County."

Of course, the DMV will ask your address. If you live in Oak Park, they might wonder why you are applying for a state ID in Lombard.

There is no guarantee one way or the other... you can take the chance or play it safe. To be honest, it's very likely to show up. This is the age of computers, it's kind of hard to hide now.

Maybe because you don't have a criminal record yet?
When will this mess be resolved and you can get on with life?

Well, you could call a DMV facility from a phone that won't show Caller ID and ask.
