    Could be a sign of a sludging problem. Start using full synthetic heavy duty diesel engine oil. This will safely clean the engine and likely solve the problem. Oil pressure builds up to 7 times faster than conventional oil.

    What would be a good synthetic oilto use and do I use the same type of oil filter my truck is a 2005 ford f350 6.0 diesel

    Use your regular Motorcraft filter, along with one of these oils:

    Mobil Delvac 1 5W-40

    Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck 5W-40

    Delo 400 LE Synthetic SAE 5W-40

    Amsoil 5W-40: AMSOIL Premium API CJ-4 Synthetic 5W-40 Diesel Oil (DEO)

    Motorcraft® SAE 5W-40 Full Synthetic Diesel Motor Oil

    Any turbo diesel should only use full synthetic diesel HDEO.
