    Removing lien
    Upon selling my house, we found a judgment lien on title.

    This was a judgment met for my son's child support and is not mine, easily identified by social security number.

    What can I do to get released from title.

    I assume your sons name was not on the deed to the house?

    Do you mean upon TRYING to sell, or did you successfully sell?

    If the judgment is preventing you from selling, then you go back to the court that issued the judgement and ask the court to release the lien.

    As long as your son is not, and has never been an owner of the property you should be able to give an Affidavit of Title to the buyers' title insurance company that states that the specific lien is against someone with the same name and not against you. That should be acceptable to them.
