In 2009, My wife and I were stationed in Schofield Barracks, HI. One day we had a disagreement and things became ugly (items thrown at each other) the MP's showed up and detained me and escorted her to the MP station, since she was the civilian and me the service member. They Finger printed and took our photos on a walmart camera to upload the pics to their computer and asked if we would like to give a statement (which we both refused.) They immediately released her and I stood by for my 1SG. A month later, I deployed to Iraq and never heard anything about the arrest from my Chain of Command, never received a letter of reprimand, a Art 15 or Court-Martial. Almost as if it was swept under the rug... Well when it came time to PCS, years later.. I couldn't clear the MP station without my Commander informing them about the outcome of my arrest ie: Art 15, court martial, letter of repr... He stated due to statue of limitations and previous superiors failing to seek punishment, no action was/nor will be taken. Service member is allowed to clear the installation. I was a private then, now I'm a Sergeant. What I want to know is: Will this affect my wife from receiving employment with a local police agency in our home state? Will this affect me from receiving federal employment after the service? Even though there wasn't much of a punishment other than marriage counseling.. Any info is much appreciated. I would hate to be the cause of her not fulfilling her dreams over a common mistake we committed as newlyweds and kids.

Thanks for the reply. I didn't think so since neither of us were convicted and it wasn't much of a charge. She never served any time or paid any fines.. It seemed like a slap on the wrist.
