I just got for my walk In cooler an conpressor with condensing unit. The conpressor tag says 230 volts 60 hz 1hp single phase motor with max fuse 15 amp. I was figuring of running about maybe 20 ft of 12-3g from a double pole 15 amp breaker In the panel to hardwire to the compressor and condensing units wiring box. It's a older machine and I just wanted to make sure this was correct way to hardwire it in. Any suggestions? Thanks for your time

Unless you are less than 50 feet and within sight of the panel, you should install a disconnect at the equipment. What type of wiring are you using? Just a guess, but it sounds like MC cable or conduit would be appropriate. (If this is a business avoid using romex)
Otherwise, it sounds like you're OK...

This is a walk-in? I assume it's a commercial setting?

Your best, and probably only, bet is to hire an electrician to do this. You should not be doing electrical work on a commercial place. Your own home is one thing if you don't really know what you are doing, but a commercial place where there will most likely be many people on site is not acceptable.

Thanks for responses. This is not a commercial walk I'n cooler I'm a big time hunter I process my own meat. This is for personal use. What would be a adequate service disconnect. I have 12-3 romex and 12-3 wire for"wet" locations to be run I'n conduit. Thanks again

I am less then 50 feet max is 20 feet and the electrical panel is outside the cooler door like 8 feet. Cooler is 8 by 10 by 8 ft tall with a 5th by 8ft room with the electrical panel. This pretty much matched the existing length of shed and a place to hang gambels and scales and other things. The compressor and condensing unit is outside of the cooler itself I'n a little 4 ft by 4 ft room on back of cooler. A copper tube runs from the unit to a cooling fan inside the cooler. Thanks
