    Grain bin pad.
I am going to pour a pad for a 30foot diameter grain bin. The outside footing is 12 inches deep and 12 inches wide. I am installing 1/2 rebar in the footings. The installer wants to use fibered cement for the footings as well as the rest of the pad at 5 inches thick instead of installing rebar on 2 foot centers. Which is best ? Fiber or rebar on the entire pad?

Although there are a number of competent construction people on this desk, the engineering aspects of this job should be addressed by a professional engineer. We have no idea as to the height, weight, wind or snow load expected or even comment as to the size and placement of footings and grade beams.
