Contact immigration, then be prepared for your sister in law, and her son, to be deported.

How did she get your sons birth certificate?

    Hello a:

    I'm troubled by your post..

First off, I'm trying to see the damage that is being inflicted on you or your son, and I really can't find any..

Secondarily, a birth certificate ISN'T enough to bring a baby across the border. He needs a passport.

Third, if the mother IS a citizen, so is her baby. And if she's NOT, how did SHE get through customs while they were checking the baby's papers??

If it were me, I'd be happy that my sister in laws family is COMPLETE.. But, that's just me.

excon, this might not be a baby, but I'm as troubled as you are.
Yes, we have laws, and yes there are drug smugglers, but for all the people floating in the Rio Grande or dead of thirst in the desert, I say 'There but for (God, or Fortune) go you or I.'

And coming down from the lofty ideals for a moment to the merely practical, what will be your relationship with your brother, who married her? And the rest of your family?

    Hello again, joy:

It's my view, that when people want to snitch on their relatives or their neighbors for immigration fraud, it's USUALLY in retaliation over some personal slight.

    This sounds like that.

True, but I'm hoping this is a 'heat of the moment' question after finding out that the birth certificate was filched out of her house, and being more angry about that than about the immigration fraud. We don't know the circumstances. Did the SIL ask, got turned down, and stole it anyway? Or just rifled the house and stole it? Or are the boys old enough for the US son to conspire to take it?
    Hoping it's just initial anger.
