Grohe faucet handle
I have a Friedrich Grohe Bathroom faucet model 88-04-L. It is a single base unit with angled handles on each side. How do I take off the handles to check/replace the faucet washers? There does not appear to be any hex screw or phillips screw to loosen the handles from the top.

There appears to be a collar or sleeve at the base of the handle knob that separates from the knob. Is that a clue to taking off the handle knob?

Could find no model called Friedrich. The numbers are probably the manufacturing date. Show end of handle. If end of handle is solid metal, use a small mirror to look at back side of handle sleeve for set screw.

Well, I got the handle off by separating that little sleeve from the knob and pulling hard. It came off after a little struggle, probably from all the calcium build up of many years. Now on to the hardware store to pickup the "specialized" faucet washers.

Interesting and congratulations. Now that you have the handle off why not post pic of handle, in case some one else has problem.

After searching at 3 hardware stores, 2 plumbing supply stores, and the 2 big box stores, I am unable to find parts for this faucet. I called Grohe directly, and they do not have parts for this faucet (model 88-04-L), claiming it is over 20-25 years old, and has been discontinued. Back then the company was called Friedrich Grohe, and has since changed its' name to just "Grohe". I have cleaned out the valves as best I can, but would like to replace the washers or the cartridges in each valve. My only problem is a small drip on the cold side when the faucet is turned off. Any suggestions?
