    How do I to put this as a Journal Entry
    Month of April.

    April 9th ----Hired a part time assistant to help out on weekends for $14 per hour.

    Do I have to do 20 hours X the number of weekends X $14 to get my number?

    There is no journal entry required for hiring an assistant. You will only have a journal entry at the end of the pay period or the end of an accounting cycle.
