We met online about 5 months ago we live in different cities, but managed to get together in person a few times and always texted each other daily. He had to go away for work. After 6 weeks away he texted that he was heading home. He seemed excited to get together but he didn't text me when he went through town and I haven't heard from him since. Should I just move on?

Well you did say you guys met multiple times, I hope that means more then once,
If he wasn't into you you would not see him more then once, now I think something might of happened, got his phone stolen, lost your number or something like that.
I would wait but keep your options open.
I hope I was right and he will get back to you as soon as he can

How long ago did you last hear from him? Maybe try texting him and asking how he is. Beyond that, don't waste much more time on him if he doesn't respond or follow through.

Last Thursday when he told me he had gone through - I just texted him a causal what's going on - shows it was delivered but no response :(

I'd move on. If you hear from him again great, but I wouldn't count on it or wait for it.
