    Tricity Oven: TBF 610 problem
    Hi,
    My oven won't heat up.

    The Fan comes on, and the element and thermostat both work for all oven settings except the Fan Assisted oven one.

    The oven is only two yrs old with no obvious burnouts or impaired wires

    Any ideas ?

    You have to use a meter to diagnose problems with a electric oven. If you do not know how to use one get the book below and learn. There are also instruction manuals supplied with a meter and you can also find them in your local library. Do not go replacing parts without checking them with a meter first. That's what jack-legs do, as we call them.

    Thanks for your reply drtom4444,
    Just wondered what the fault was most likely to be.
    Happy to look at the book, but can't see the link

    Reply;
    We used a VOM to check continuity on the element, showing it to be OK, how do we used it on the Oven & Thermostat controls please ?

    These are the links you need to download: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...e%20Manual.pdf
    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...Electronic.pdf
    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...tric_Range.pdf
    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...pool_range.pdf
    You will need to study these well and then it will become easy. The meter set to "ohms" on lowest setting (Power always off when using meter in "ohms.") sends electricity through leads and sees if it will go through whatever you are testing. You can start at the plug prongs and go through the whole stove. If a hot prong reads to ground you have a problem and when you find a break you need to find out what part is breaking the connection. It's easy to do.
