    Ceiling Fan Switch Wiring Diagram
Replacing a light fixture for a ceiling fan. Junction box at ceiling has 3 separate pieces of romex coming into it. Initially I removed the light, capped the black wire to be connected to fan. Capped the 2 neutral wires that would connect to the neutral on the fan. Tucked up in the box there were 3 wires, 2 black and 1 neutral capped together. Problem, the junction box had to be changed and my helper didn't label anything. So currently the 6 wires are capped separately and the circuit breaker is off. I have a hot wire, and after climbing into the attic it looks like a wire that leads to a bank of switches ( none of the lights beyond the switches work, they worked without the fixture but, not once the wires were played with), and a wire leading to lights on a carport (switch also on same bank of switches). To help visualize picture a T to the left side of the cross piece is the junction box where light fixture was, to the right outside the carport lights, the base of the T is where the switches are located. So the question is what goes where?

I can't visualize that much and without your testing we can't help much. Noting you had black and white together would indicate a switch loop. One of the hots will go to a white to a switch and then a black return. Start there. The other black connected to the first black would also indicate a second switch loop. Some whites are neutral but it appears some are hot. Pull the wall switches and look for switches with s black and white wires. Hopefully you have a VOM and know how to trace a circuit using jumper clips -with power off!
