My ex and I broke up 4yrs ago for no apparent reason,we lost contact for about a year,he had taken me on an ice cream date when we started contacting each other.we've dated people between but for some reason they never seem to work out. I don't know why but I feel his the one for me and that deep down he still loves me. He and I flirt sometimes and I want to be able to tell him I love him. I'm confused what should I do? I think it might be a good idea, should things start to proceed between the two of you, to talk about what happened four years ago, before you head into a committed relationship.

I say that because, the air needs to be cleared. He is probably wondering what happened the first time around, and you're likely wondering the same thing. Even if the two of you agree that you were just too young, or had other things going on, or were interested in other people, that would clear the air.

Yes you both have to air everything out. All the hurts, misunderstandings, fights, need resolved so they don't crop up again. Make it clear you want a fresh start and will deal with things in a more grown up way.
