    What is the acceptable distance to the vent stack?

    Hi John

    The distance to the vent will depend on the exact fixture or fixtures being installed and how far they are away from the drain line (or waste stack).

    How about some information here... exactly what are you doing?

    An addition that moves the kitchen about 8' further away from its original location.

    Code allows 5 feet on a 2 inch kitchen drain line to the vent. Hey, are you pulling a permit on this job and will it be inspected? Back to you, Tom
