    Bicitra, also known as Sodium citrate, or Citric acid, has several uses. One is to reduce the uric acid in the urine. Urine that has less acid aids in the kindey's removal of uric acid. This can be used for minor bouts of gout, for example. In some cases it is also used prior to certain abdominal surgeries such as cesarean sections to reduce stomach acid.
