    Can I get discharged for insomnia?
    I can't sleep... Insomnia runs in my family, but I didn't think it would effect me in the military until I got here... Sleepless nights have started to cause depression.

    You may for depression, but not sure you want that on official record.

    What about getting treated for it ?

    A lot depends on the individual people you will have to deal with in your unit. Some might ignore your insomnia as long as you continue to function. Most, I would guess. You would have to show obvious signs of failure to do your job and somehow end up in the infirmary. Even then they might put you right back in.
