    Camping math word problem
You are responsible for buying supplies for an upcoming camping trip. You can buy packages to stew that just need water added and then are heated. Each package costs $4.95 and contains enough stew for 2 people. You need to buy enough packages so that you can have stew for 3 days of the trip. There will be 8 people on the trip. How many packages do you need? What is the total cost?

There are 8 people and each package is enough for 2 people, so divide 8 by 2 to get the number of packages each day you will need. Now put all your information together to solve the problem.

So cost of package * number of packages each day * number of days = total cost of packages
