Hip pain at 21 years old?
Every time I sit "indian style" or move my leg the wrong way, my hip gets this sharp pain. Its been going of for a few months now. Mostly on my right side but sometimes I feel it on the left as well. The pain is on the inside of my legs. Where the hip and pelvic area meet. I can't feel any bruising or bumps on the outside. I just don't know what it could be. I haven't don't any activity for it to be broken or fractured.

Any ideas of what it could be?

Would you say it's 'inner thigh' more than hip? Surface or deep? Can you be more specific?
Most of us do find it more difficult to side cross legged as we get older, or muscles weaken, and our organs sag - the uterus, bladder, and bowel are all somewhat movable, and can even fall out of whatever opening they can find - bladder out of the uterus (prolapse), bowel down the leg (femoral hernia), and so on. 21 is a bit young for this though.

Women have more problems with sagging than men, and also are prone to more cysts, anywhere in the lower abdomen, which can cause pain where they are but often somewhere else entirely. If it gets worse go get an ultrasound.

My first guess would be that you have a very minor pinched nerve or muscle strain, but that is just a guess.

Its in the inner part of my hip. Right where my leg and private area connect. Its about 3/4 of the way in. Its hard to explain but its only felt when I move my leg outward sitting or standing

I would agree that it is probably a strain or a sprain. I would go to a doctor to confirm that it isn't anything more serious. For that muscle about the only solution is the doc McCoy: If it hurts when you do that then don't do it.

With the way I'm explaining this its easy to say "dont do it" but it's a problem that isn't going away and the further I move my leg outward or just in an everydat position it hurts.

I don't currently have health insurance so I'm trying to get some ideas of what it could be

Sit on the floor. Put your legs out as far as you can go hopefully until you can feel the pain, or sit cross legged. Feel the large muscles of your inner thighs ('hip' generally refers to the area as a whole or the outer area when being specific). Press them to see if they hurt, just to see if you can narrow this down.

Your cure will most likely be gentle exercise and warm baths. I said ultrasound IF it gets worse.
