    Fence around in-ground pool
Our pool is multi level and steps down to the pool area with retaining walls on both sides. The total height of the wall is 6 feet but is split in two three foot walls. We have pillars that are 4 foot tall. Can we tie our iron fence in to the retaining wall or do we have have 4 feet above the 6 foot retaining wall? I am wanting to enclose the pool and not the entire back yard.

If you can supply us with a picture, it will be easier to help.

You can have fence built on top of retaining wall, but would have to start at high point and maintain that level.

You will also need to check your insurance company requirements, most will have a required height for protection and even type. Also, the city may have zoning issues, ( zoning and insurance may have different requirements.

If those are meet, the rest would be personal tastes. At just 2 levels of 3 foot walls, I would have concern over this myself.
