Help with mystery illness and strange blood panel, 26 male
I am seeking some suggestions on what this panel may be saying. I have been seeing an Oncologist and an Infectious Disease Specialist since May and have no answers to why I have been sick except that I am a mystery and continue to go in for clinics and testing like once a week.
This panel attached at the bottom had the most outrageous numbers, what could be causing these outcomes?
26 white male, experienced about 60 lbs weight loss without trying, have what look like bruises all over body except they have not gone away since April (even one on the lip), body aches, bone or muscle aches, headaches, sleeping two and three days straight only waking up to use bathroom but even then I fight to stay awake, and calf muscles lock up for three days straight, night sweats, and cold chills that start at the top of my head and go down my whole body. These episodes happen in flares about every two weeks or when I over do it. The many spots that look like bruises (about 35 or so) do not ever go away, and have not since they appeared in April.

It looks like your results are pretty outrageous. There are several syndromes that will present blood tests like that. Though the percentages seem to be about right, the absolute values seem a little off.The problem is the other symptoms are really strange. But what do I know, I just took a few biology course in university.
Your doctors haven't called you back and explained the results? Have you thought of seeing other doctors? I can see how this can be an issue, but I don't know what it could be.

Did they rule out Karposi's sarcoma? There are 4 kinds; it doesn't just hit people with AIDS. Are you of African origin?
The virus is transmitted through saliva, and doesn't have to spread from genital contact.
I'm not going by those high numbers, which I don't know enough about, but by your symptoms.
You may have neither cancer nor an infectious disease. You should not be undiagnosed after 4 months like this!
What medical center, if you don't mind saying? Is it an university one, hopefully?

HHV8 is found in all Karposi's. Why aren't they even mentioning it?

Please look also at other citations on the right margin.
That's such a good medical center. I don't understand why so much time has passed.

Every medical centre has it's off days. As well we have one piece of the puzzle. There is so much more missing. There could be other factors that we're not seeing that they did. Could be that it seems like she's presenting Karposi's, but there is some other test that shows something different.

HHV8, very interesting...
Have you ever had an organ transplant? Ever been on immunosuppressants?
You say you are caucasian. Are you of Italian descent? Eastern European? Jewish?
This is a pretty good website you might want to peruse.

Your symptoms do sound a lot like Karposi's regardless of your race or heritage, and I sure hope that your doctors don't just write it off because you don't have AIDS.
It can be caught by KISSING with lots of saliva exchanged, for pity's sake.
Definite diagnosis can be made only by biopsy and microscopic examination, which will show the presence of spindle cells. Detection of the KSHV protein LANA in tumor cells confirms the diagnosis.
I wish you would respond. Obviously we are lacking a ton of information about 3 - 4 months of weekly testing.
