How can I get a car title from a bank after the car was claimed in bankruptcy
I am trying to take ownwership of a vehicle that was in my brothers name 6 years ago when he filed for bankruptcy. He put the car on his bankruptcy, but, the bank has never came to take possession of the vehicle. It has been now more than 6 years and I was wanting to know if I could file for a lost title to this car or maybe charge a monthly storage fee to the bank in hopes that they might just give up the title?

Does he still have the title? If so, it's not a "lost title" situation.

Is the bank shown on the title as lienholder? If so, contact the bank and ask them how much they want to release the lien? It's probably not worth much today. The maximum they can get is the present value of the car.

No, I don't think the bank will pay storage charges.

He will still owe it, and he should have the title, the bank merely has a lien on it, which will show p on title, the lien has to be settled to sell the vechile.

Where is the brother, he is the one that has to do everything.

If the car was given to the bank at the bankruptcy court, then it is really their car at this point.
So what do you want to do with car ? Get rid of it, use it ?

That's not how bankruptcy is conducted. The court does not "give" assets from the bankruptcy estate to secured creditors. If the bank wanted to obtain possession of the car it would have asked the bankruptcy court for leave to take it, but I am guessing that this did not happen.

He will still owe it and he must have the title. Usually cars will loose after filed banrkuptcy but this is conditional.
