Help! I live in an old condominium with fixtures from the late 1950's. Maintenance is non-existent because all of the apartments are owned by different people and rented without any contract. When I plugged my hair dryer in to the bathroom outlet, I heard a humming noise and now the outlet doesn't work. Does this mean I have to have the outlet replaced?

I Have a wall swich that currently controls a baseboard outlet. The Wall switch has a white,black, ground coming in from the top of the box-- and a white,black,red,ground coming in from the bottom of the box. The two blacks are tied together/two whites tied together... the red goes to the switch...

This morning, my bathroom gfi outlets in all bathrooms won't work. The one with the black trip button and red reset button won't allow me to push the button in to trip/break.
