In our tack room (room for storing saddles, feed, etc.), we have a sink and drain there, so wondering if I can use that same water supply line to fill the toilet, and then have the toilet use the same drain as the sink? We have a well and septic. Just not sure if the sink drain would work for the toilet as a drain...

Won't work... Sink drains are WAY too small a diameter to start with. You would HAVE to run a new drain all the way to the septic tank... assuming there are no large diameter drains betwee the septic tank and your stable to tie into.

Like Smoothy said, you cannot install a traditional toilet into a sink drain... drain is way too small!

Note here, however, that if you have electricity you could install a SANIFLO macerator pump toilet and connect the discharge line from the pump to the sink drain... that could work... ;)

I am not a plumber but will just add to massplumber's recommendation of a saniflo toilet. Mine operates very well with just a 3/4 inch pvc outlet pipe, as recommended by saniflo. Good suggestion as usual from mass.

How close is the tack room to a main 4" drain lines? Back to you, Tom
