    Septic tank for rv
    Hi.
We only stay in our camper in the summer time.
We would like to have a septic tank for a one bed room put in.
We have the room and the down ward place to put it and also are able to put a regular house stool in the bathroom. You know the kind that you have at home.
    Has anyone ever done this?
    Thanks
    Tony.

Installing the toilet is no problem, venting the toilet may be. What may be a bigger issue it getting a permit for a septic tank. Many locations will only allow septic for "permanent" dwellings unless you are in an RV facility. In addition, almost all locations will require a permit which will require a perc test or a soil engineering test.

Every time we get a heavy rain I get water coming from the leach bed back into the septic tank. Is there a check valve that can be installed to prevent this from happening or any other suggestions? I have been told that a curtain drain would help, but that is costly.
