Hello. We have a State Water Heater Model PRV 50 NBRTO, CAPACITY 50, NATURAL GAS.

I can't seem to locate any manual for this model water heater.

I seem to have an issue where my water will be hot for a little while then go luke warm. Or it doesn't get as hot as I would like. I have a large tub that I feel like I can never get it hot. The water will be hot for about 1/4 of the way filling the tub, but then come out luke warm.

On the hot water heater there is a thermostat nob that I could turn (my 1st home so I am really knew to all this) and it reads like this: Very Hot, C, B, A, Hot. It is set to hot at the moment and I could turn it up to the next level, which would be A. But how do I know what temperature these letters correspond to?

Is the issue I'm having because my water heater is getting old or is it set too low?

If it is an internal tank leak, you replace it, not "fix it"

Set the Knob to "B". While heating up, go to a hardware store, Harbor Freight for example, and buy a small dial thermometer, about $5. After 2-3 hours, measure the temperature of the water. It should not exceed 125 F. If it is below 125, nudge the knob up a 1/2 click and repeat. There is no standard as to what temperature the letters equal.
