I cry a lot and self harm, I need help to understand?
I'm a 13 year old girl. I always tear up and almost cry all the time and I don't know why. I am always wanting to hurt myself in some way. Sometimes I cut, punch myself or hit a body part with a hard solid item.
I try not to harm myself too bad because I know it will bite me in the when I'm older. I am usually a pretty happy kid when I'm around people but my thoughts say otherwise. I'm basically always thinking dark thought like about killing or hurting myself and others, I would never actually hurt someone else though. I don't really want to tell anyone especially not an adult. I have been thinking about telling one of my guy friends but am afraid he will freak out and I refuse to tell anyone because they will judge and think I have problems, which I am beginning to think I do have.
I don't have a bad life or anything it's actually as others would say better than most, I have friends and a loving family. I just can't work out what's wrong with me? I sometimes feel like I have different personalities as well because sometimes I'll be okay then suddenly I'm really pissed at everyone.
Can anybody help me understand what is wrong with me?

You need to tell an ADULT, you need to get counseling and attempt to solve the issues in your life. So a parent, or a school counselor or a trusted teacher.

Try and watch for something common that might be triggering this. When you feel its going to start start thinking of positive things or a positive upbeat song with meaning. Try self talking a couple times... think it through and each thing tell the thoughts in constructive words how stupid and irrational it is.

You do need to tell someone who can get you help.
You need to talk to someone who can help you determine if your problems are mental (the way you are thinking) or physical (a chemical or hormonal imbalance.) It could be both.
At 13, your body is going through a lot of changes very quickly. Sometimes those changes can affect how you think and react. Sometimes, you need a little help. There is nothing to be ashamed, scared or worried about. It may feel like it, but you are not alone.
Please talk to someone.

You are 13. Your body and mind are going through changes. Some people have a really hard time dealing with this and affects both boys and girls.
You are not too young to create a life you design to help you cope with emotional highs and lows. Reading what you enjoy, an art of craft or other hobby, maybe making at least one close friend, getting involved in a church or support group might be helpful, keeping a journal and so on. Think of what you can do to build a new and better life even at 13. You do have some options other than destructive.
