Boyfriend needs space, but we live together
My boyfriend and I have been together for about two and half years, and we've been living together for the last six months. He begged me for months to move in and I was very hesitant but finally decided to do it. He's telling me now that he needs some space in the relationship. How do I give him space when we are living together? I really want our relationship to last.

Your BF forgot to beware of what you wish for. Something has changed the way he is thinking and it isn't a hopeful sign. If he wants space after 2 1/2 years give it to him, miles of it.

You can give him space by allowing him not only privacy, but letting him do things without you. You both should have the freedom of having a life that you enjoy without each other.

Thanks for the quick replies. I've been a mess since he told me. We've been nearly inseparable since we started the relationship and I'm finding it really hard giving him the space he needs now.

Its called smothering and leads one partner or another to run for the hills. I think a more balanced relationship would be healthier for you both. Having a life without each other is healthy.
