How to get eu work permit as a south african with a german partner
    I am a South African
My partner of 17 years holds both German (by birth) and South African passports (by naturalization) (His mother holds Dutch citizenship & his father German citizenship).

We both live in South Africa and we would like to move to the Netherlands.

My partner still has another year left on his work contract in South Africa. I wanted to know if I could jump the gun and be allowed to start working in the EU now - while he finishes his contract - or does my partner have to be specifically living with me in the EU before I am allowed to work?
What are the rules in our situation?
How can we best go about this?

I'd contact your local German consulate or Embassy and ask them directly.

Yes, there are many loopholes, especially the language one. They would require you to speak fluent German.
