    DeHumidifier
How Long should a Portable Dehumidifier last? Yes I could put this question the Manufacturer but I'm sure they wouldn't want to answer that... It's a Whirlpool make , paid in the neighborhood of $250. For it 3 yrs ago... We had it running in the Basement from about the middle of May till about the end of October or when it took longer to fill the reservoir... The 1st two years it ran fine almost like set it and forget it.. It took about 12 hours to fill the reservoir. Now this being the 3rd season the unit runs fine as always but Doesn't collect any condensation out of the air...

Two questions... do you have a thick mat of lint and crud buit up on the coils (likely if there is a lot of dust in the air... or are the coils icing up? You should be able to see either from the back with a flashlght... at least you can on other brands.

THey can last a lot of years... Moms got one that's still going strong over 30 years later... my last one died at 15 years... (problems with coild icing up solid.)

Feel the coils, they should be cold. Make sure they are clean. Can you hear the compressor running?
