My ex boyfriend moved out of my house last November and did not take his things. I asked him repeatedly to come get his things. It is now July and he says now he will come get his things. By law do I give him his things or are his things declared as abandoned? There was never an agreement for him to leave his things at my house. Please help.

Unless you told him, in writing, that he has to get his things or you will consider them abandoned and gave him a specific date by which he had to remove them, then yes, you have to give them back.

You could have called your local police dept to ask what the abandoned property ordinance is where you live (30, 60, 90 days) and given him notice - in writing, sent certified mail.

Unless he specifically game them to you, they are his. If he asks for them and you still have them, give them to him; they are not yours. The other question though is what do you do with them if you don't want them. That is where abandonment comes into play.
