Do I have a yeast infection?
I found that I have a clumpy white discharge coming from my vagina. As I examined it more it seemed to be only around the vaginal opening it was only a little bit but I got a little concerned. I have never had sex before and never have I ever been 'fingered' so it cannot be a STD but I'm not sure what's going on there's no odor... no itching... but a little swelling on my left labia (only a slight swelling however) when I touched it was a little sensitive but it dose not really hurt just a little irritation I found this problem today (07/16/13) and I got concerned I've done a bit of research myself and it seems as if I may have a yeast infection, but however I am not sure I would appreciate it if someone could help me 'Asap' I am 16 years old and a little too embarrassed to share this with my but if is a infection I will tell her and go to a doctor but I need to know if its worth telling her and it is serious and something I cannot control and deal with myself. If you know what's going on please help thank you :) - mariah

Looks a bit like cottage cheese? Sounds like the beginning of a yeast infection. If you let it go longer or it got worse you will get itching and more irritation.

There are products like Monostat that can take care of it in a single application or three... (yeah there are a few older ones that take longer). Follow the directions to the letter and in a few days it will be gone.

I would talk to your mom about this... undoubtedly she's been through this more than a few times herself. Its not uncommon.
