My blower motor reads its good. It would have to be the compacitor then?
The central air blower quit blowing. Don't want to spend unnecessary money replacing parts.

What are you checking to say "my blower motor reads its good"? A CAPACITOR is the usual cause of a motor not starting or running slowly.

My central air blower motor. I wrote a reply after this, explaining that the capacitor was really hot when my nephew took it apart took.

That's what happened. The blower quit working. You could hear it run but the blower wouldn't kick on. I didn't want to burn anything up and shut it down.

By saying you can it run, I meant the furnace still runs but the blower doesn't kick on. I do exterior finishing and am lost when it comes to plumbing and electrical. Thanks for any information.

The simplest thing to do is replace the capacitor. Mark the wires, remove the capacitor and take it to an electrical supply store or go to an HVAC contractor and get a matched one. They are inexpensive to replace compared to a motor.

Tried that and it ran slowly and then stopped. Im sure I got it all hooked back up right. I was told if I didn't then it wouldn't run at all? Any suggestions?

Was it the same size cap?? Will the fan run if you spin it by hand? Most likely the fan motor is bad.

I spun it by hand and it ran for a minute then stopped. I messed with the thermostat and it came on by itself for a minute then stopped like before. I was told if the motor works at all then its not the motor? Im not very knowledgeable on heating and cooling. All I know is its super hot and want to get it fixed. Thanks for any info. And greatly appreciated.

The old capacitor was 7.5, 440 vac 1000. The new one the sold me was 7.5, 440 vac 370. I was told that last number doesn't matter? I got it at a heating and cooling installer shop. Both say +-6%.

I would say the motor is bad if you got all the wires correct. The last one I changed for a customer was an immediate difference. That cap lasted 16 years.

Our house is a 2007 manufactured home. I wouldn't think the capacitor would go bad in so 6 years. The motor doesn't run long enough to get hot before it shuts off. The blower is doing the same with both new and old capacitors. This leads me to believe it may be the blower motor? I had a friend test it before I got the capacitor and he said it was good but something isn't right. The blower isn't blowing near as hard as it should. You could barely feel it coming through the vents. Thanks for the information. Any other ways to tell for sure?

I checked it and the motor got super hot. Just took it to a guy to see if he can rebuild it. If not he said he could get one wholesale. Thanks for the information guys.
