    what size steel to replace 3 2x4
    I want to move a non bearing wall ,but a triple 2x4 supporting an intersecting beam is in my way. Could I header this beam with steel and if so what size, I wanted to create a closet under this intersecting beam. Pete

    If the "triple 2x4" is supporting something it is a bearing wall. There is no way for us to answer your question, you didn't tell us the span, what is above or how wide. Can you hide the existing 2x4s in a wall cavity? Giive us a drawing as I am unclear what is supporting what.
