You cannot legally get a tattoo until you're 18, so you have 4 years to really think about it.

And yes, it will grow as you do. Is this something you are prepared to live with for the rest of your life. Will you be happy with it when you are 80?

You do not want one on wrist, there are many jobs that you can not get, if a tattoo is visible, and many others you will not get because it shows, ( it may not be officially against the rules)

Where I teach for example, has strict rule, no visible tattoos,

Also wrist is one of the places that really hurt, upper arm is good place to start when you turn 16

My hubby got a tattoo when he was under age done by someone who claimed they knew what they were doing.

Boy was that the biggest mistake ever!

His tattoo, which he still has, is on his hand. It was supposed to be a tribal design of some sort and really turned out to be a huge black blob right on the top of his hand going up his wrist. The tattoo "artist" went to deep with the needle resulting in a scar that is approximately 1 1/2" long and about and inch wide. It is the first thing everyone notices when they meet him. They always ask what it is supposed to be. He replies with, "I have no idea. You tell me."

Moral of the story, please do not go out and get a tattoo by someone who is willing to give one to a minor. They may claim they know what they are doing, but most likely just want your money. Once you get a tattoo it is something you have to live with forever (unless you pay good money to get it removed). Take the 4 years you have until you're 18 and think about if you really want one and where you really want it.

Yep even an adult it should be someone who is reputable. The tattoo artist I grew up with was a great artist even in grade school. He would never even as much as allow any one under 18 in his place, even with an adult
