Hi 272, I would say never dye your hair again, but that isn't what you want to hear. There are color removers on the market and if you can access this link for Color Oops somehow, this is a good one Farleyco Marketing Inc. | Health & Beauty - Face, Body, Hair, Cosmetics. It is a Canadian site but that shouldn't be a problem and it is actually a complete review on color oops. You will have to enter Colour Oops in their search feature.

Just don't keep on dyeing your hair and fry it completely; one good tip is condition once a week with olive oil, yes, olive oil. You can create a hot oil treatment with olive oil using l oz. heated up in the microwave to just a little more then warm, massage into dry hair and wrap your head in a hot wet towel for l0 minutes. The oil will wash out completely.

Dyeing your hair is not going to fry it. Over-bleaching will destroy it, though.

Try to avoid using those color strippers, as they are the worst type of destructive tool on the market in the hair-color industry.

The general rule for a re-dye is at least 14 days, but if it's not a habit, you should be able to get away with as little as 2, unless the re-color requires bleaching. Bleaching is an entirely different story and can cause a lot of damage if not done properly. If you had bleached for the current color, you'll want to wait at least the full two weeks, if not more. A darker color you should be able to do it right over what you've got now, pretty much as soon as you have no remnants of the color running out. Usually takes a few days for browns and blacks, a little longer for reds.

Extreme colors, like your blues and greens and purples and such, yeah, they'll take a while to stop bleeding and you're going to need to rebleach. At least two weeks, preferably longer. And if you do bleach regularly, invest in a thick conditioner. The ones that hold their shape when you squeeze it into your hand. My recommendation is Fructis, and don't wash your hair every day. Your natural oils do more for your hair's health than any product on the market.

@eota, so what is your objection to Colour Oops, reports are it is safe to use unless you can dig up a link to say it is otherwise.

Natural oils, yes okay, but hair needs a boost every once in a while, so my suggestion is always a hot oil treatment with olive oil.

Take 6 weeks for caution , you should also try <a href="http://www.inspired-beauty.com/2012/10/prep-hair-for-color-bleaching.html">Prep the hair for bleaching</a>
