    Back Pain
I have a problem and I would be most grateful if I could get some answers. It started about a year ago when this dull pain started on the left side of my lower back. I noticed that the longer I sat still, the pain increased. Then 3 to 4 moths after this pain disappeared. Now a month ago, it came back and this time, its much intense and no longer a dull pain. It's sharp and gradually moves down my buttocks, to my thigh and my knee. Also I get nauseous and have reoccurring headaches which sometimes wakes me up. I don't know what this is but I'm very worried. I did an ultrasound last month and it showed I have a "subserous myoma" on my left ovary measuring 3.0 by 2.6 cm (the right ovary was taken out due to a massive cyst at the age of 11). Do you think this could be the reason for my back pain. The doctor told me not to worry about the size of the myoma as he says its benign.

Your nerve pain sounds like sciatica, named after the sciatic nerve, which doesn't go near the ovaries... BUT I do think it's possible that your pain is related, because of course all nerves affect nearby nerves, and your fibroid could be nearer to the back than the front. Did you mention all this to the doctor, along with the nausea and headaches? Nausea could be more nerves hitting your intestines. Fortunately our bodies are a huge network of nerves to warn us of something wrong. Unfortunately that often means pain we don't want once we know what's wrong. Treatment of fibroids is often determined by how much discomfort a woman is experiencing, not because they need to be operated on.
