    Toilet bowl not holding water
Issue with toilet bowl not holding water The toilet flushes well, bowl fills up with clean water but within 5 minutes all the water has drained from the toilet bow. The tank is holding water fine, no water is heard running. How do I fix this?

Hi burrnm and welcome, I'm guessing your bowl is cracked and will need replaced. But hang tight an expert will be along shortly.

Does the floor not feel wet at the bottom of the toilet? Can you gain access under the toilet or are you on a slab?

Do all other drains work? Do they make noise when they drain?

HI, there is no water on the floor... no water leaking out of bowl or tank. Yes, other drains are gurgling and making noise from time to time. The kitchen drains are the most "vocal". I am on a slab in an apartment. Unable to get under building.
Thanks for your help. Oh, and yes, all other drains are working well..

Hi again, so how many floors above you? I take it you rent? Have you told management of your problem? I would think they should be doing any repairs. Maybe an expert will jump in to advise. Good luck

At first I thought but PT had it nailed with a cracked bowl. But then you mentioned that the fixtures gurgle. This indicates a blocked vent. A blocked vent could suction the water out of a bowl. The solution would be to snake the lavatory vent. Put out enough snake to reach the base and 15 feet more. Good luck, Tom
