Getting Pregnant
My boyfriend and I just recently started trying to get pregnant on march23, 2007. It's been 3 days before we started trying to conceive, and I'm having cramps in my stomach. One minute their there and then they're there light and then they come really badly. Could I be pregnant after only 3 days of trying to get pregnant?

It depends on when you are fertile! However, its not likely you would be feeling anything 3 this close to conception. When was your last period?

My last period started on the 4rth of march which means I am fertile right now. I've never had cramps like this before and I can't be constipated because I've been going to the bathroom just fine. I'm just not sure what to do. Like I said I'm not scared if I am pregnant because my boyfriend and I are trying. I just don't know where these cramps are coming from. Also do you know if it's too early to take a pregnancy test 10 days after you start trying to conceive because many websites say I should wait 12-14 days. Do you think the 2 day difference will matter?

You need to wait to take a test until you miss a period. Its highly unlikely your hcg levels will be anywhere near high enough to be detected in a pregnancy urine test yet. Some tests can work up to four days before a missed period, but the success rates of these are not great.

If you are ovulating the cramps could be a cyst on the ovary that will rupture when the egg is released. I have felt that a few times. It's fairly common. I wouldn't take a test until at least 4-5 days after the first day of your missed period. I didn't get a positive result on an early response test until I was 10 days late. Good luck. If the cramps continue you may want to schedule an appointment with your doctor. If you haven't been seen by your doctor recently you should schedule an appointment anyway. Make sure you are visiting your ob/gyn once a year, and good luck!! Keep us posted.

OK thanks for everyone's help on this. I'm just going to be a new mom and I'm not sure what everything is. Also, how often should I see my doctor during my pregnancy? Is it once a month or more?

As soon as you find out you are pregnant call and tell them and set up an appointment. They will let you know how often they want you to come in. It's usually like once a month for the 1st and 2nd trimester, then once every 2 weeks as you get closer to your due date, then once a week for about the last month. It all depends on you and your pregnancy and your doctor. I am also a new mom to be!

it's not likely. It takes most couples a year to get pregnant. Some sonner, some later. But you would take 2 weeks before you would have ANY signs what so ever, even ones that like only the Dr. would notice.
It's hard to give advise as to what to do because there's not a lot you can do. But if you don't get pregnant with in the first year, you should ses a doctor and get your insides checked out. Guy and girl both. Until that time, Try and stay active and eat right, studies show that those who have a BMI (and you can use a BMI calculator to find out what yours is) with a BMI between 20-30 are more likely to get pregnant, but over 25 is considered overwieght, so I would aim under that, but under 20 is not really healthy so that also would be bad. Also take a daily vitamine and a zinc and folic acid one also, they help.
And this might sound gross but try and aim that your boyfriend "finishs" inside you, with you on bottom. Directly after try placeing a pillow or to under your butt and hips to elevate your pelvious for about 15 minutes in order to help the spermies swim to the egg.
=)
Good luck!

Only about 50% of marriages survive. Relationships with out that level of commitment very rarely last. How many single mothers do you know that are pleased with being a single mother?

Commitment is made of the heart, a little piece of paper doesn't automatically mean that one person won't leave their spouse for some one else, that's why the devorce rate is so high, it's not taken seriously anymore. Personally, I think it's a shame, but in all actuallity, a wedding, and getting married is just a show of a affection, just because two people choose not to, doean't mean that they aren't going to work out, and shouldn't have kids together.
Besides, My mom bight not have loved the idea of being a single mom in the beginning, but then she realized, she needed no aid in raiseing me well. And she's plently glad we are as clase as we are, and I am as well brought up as I am, and had she not been a single mother for the most part, that wouldn't be so.

If your period is due it could be that. Its just not possible that you would feel that kind of pain of only 3 days of trying to get pregnant... even if conception took place then the egg hasn't even been implanted yet.. just give it a couple weeks and see if you get your period or not

That doesn't make any sense for the question I asked, but thanks anyway. Does anyone know if I could start trying to get pregnant after the last day of my period or is that too early. I can't wait to be a mommy you. I know it takes time but has anyone ever gotten pregnant after only a month of trying to conceive?

Could I be pregnant if I feel very sharp pains in my lower belly. Yesterday while attending a hockey game I went to the bathroom and then afterwards when I got back to my seat a few minutes later I felt very sharp pains around my belly button. Although this time I haven't been feeling sick I could be pregnant. And is it possible to have a suspicion that you're pregnant even before it's time to take a pregnancy test?

Pains in your stomach could be normal, or they could be something to cause concern(such as an ectopic pregnancy, which is often felt as a pain on one side of the stomach, near the belly button region. Could also be a sign of a UTI-urinary tract infection. Both of which need to be taken care of right away) If the pains continue, or worsen, definitely go see your doctor. It is possible to have a suspicion that you are pregnant before you get a positive on a test. Some women swear they know the moment that they conceived, however not all of us are this intuitive. ;0) perhaps you are pregnant, perhaps you are not. Unfortunately you have to play the waiting game now, until you get that positive or negative on the test. I wish you the best of luck

I doubt that you would have conceived already and even if you have I doubt you would have any pregnancy signs yet. When I was trying to conceive for the first time I thought it would happen really quickly but it took nearly 2years until I got pregnant. Anyway good luck.

Isn't it possible to get pregnant the first time you try. I heard of some girls who have sex for the first time without a condom and they're on the pill and the first time they get pregnant. So it couldn't possibly take that long. My aunt also got pregnant on her 1 week long honeymoon. For some women it takes longer, because they don't produce as fast or as normal as other women and according to my doctor it won't take long for me to get pregnant as long as I know when I'm most fertile. I know I'm young, I'm healthy and I'm active on a daily basis. Also, does anyone know if I can go to the gym and do my regular work outs while pregnant
