    Help a Disabled Veteran---Tenant (3) day notice of eviction
    I am a tenant. Get a new manager in Feb 2013 and sign a renewel lease. After signing my 2nd year renewal lease. I get a notice in March of 2013 from the new manager (3 days to pay or possession) that I owe (3) months rent for a period during my 1st year lease. I never received any late notices and paid on time since I have lived here. Around the time of the notice the management company I heard fired the old office manager for theft. I submitted documentation, to the new manager, providing information to correct their records and realized they owed me about $400 in over payments. For (4) months I received additional (3 day notice or possession) notices for different amounts and again provided additional documentation and reports to show them that they still owed me about $400. I continued to pay full rent during this disputed period because the new manager said the audit was still ongoing and I still owed that months rent. Then on the 4th month since this dispute I dropped off the difference of the rent and what I think they owed me in the form of a Money Order. The new manager kept it but said it would not be deposited and he would not give me a receipt due to the fact I did not pay that months rent in full. ( 2) days later I get another (3 day notice to pay or possession) because I did not pay June 2013 in full. And the manager is charging late fee on a per day basis. I dropped of a formal letter to the office staff requesting for the true balance of my account history. And have not heard anything and my grace period for eviction to begin is tomorrow!! Someone please I beg of you, help me they have taken away my joy of living and giving me undo stress and financial injury by the threat of eviction. Blah, blah, blah

    You have done everything correctly.

    I hope you kept copies of every letter you sent to them!

    Let the landlord try to sue you. When you appear before the judge, provide copies of everything you received from the landlord and everything you sent to them. Bring with you copies of bank statements, checks, or whatever you have in writing that proves you made all of the payments. Assuming that you made every payment that was due the judge will issue a judgment in your favor and will cancel out all of the late fees that you have been charged.

    Still haven't heard anything from the office. Should I go down to the office and request a status of my account?

    I wouldn't bother. You've already told them in writing what you believe your account status to be and you've shown them proof. If they believe it is different they will either let you know or file a lawsuit. There's no need for you to take action at this point.
