Can you be signed off work for nose bleeds?

I was play fighting and got punched in the nose two weeks ago on Thursday. And it keeps bleeding. It bleeds from sitting still to walking about to lifting things. They make me feel sick, light headed, dizzy and give me a headache.

I work in a pub so I'm constantly on my feet, bending down to get glasses, and moving heavy barrells.

I have had my nose curtized by the hospital on Monday and he advised to not bend down or pick anything heavy up.. but will my gp sign me off work for this?

I have been told, I should be allowed to be but I don't want to go to the doctors and look like a idiot when I explain what happened and I want to be signed off work and they say no..

Don't worry, the doctors are used to people looking like idiots. Just think about the barbie they had to retrieve for some poor sod's rectum or the amount of marbles from the noses of grown college students. Your doctor should be able to provide a note though it might cost a little.
