Question For a Human Resources Professional
    Hi,

    Here's my question:
Is the Human Resources person in my company required to field calls from my spouse with regards to our insurance plan or are they only required to take queries from employees?
My wife understands insurance matters better than I, I'd rather she talked directly to our HR person. The company has an issue with spouses calling with questions.

    Thanks,
    J E

The HR person is not required to deal with anyone other than employees. However, if you give them permission to speak with your wife, normally they would. The permission may have to be in writing and filed in your employment folder.

    But they can refuse.
