My parents think I'm gay and I'm not
When I was younger (I'm 16) I accidentally encountered a "video" on the Internet. I was about 12, and it kind of weirded me out. After a couple weeks, it was still weirding me out, so I decided to see another to find out what was so weird about it. I saw both straight and gay, and tried to compare the two, but the only difference was that the girl was replaced with another guy.

I'm not a homophobe or anything, so I kept looking for what was so weird. After a while, my parents discovered these videos and had the talk that no one even needs anymore. They asked if I was gay, and I honestly said no. And for some dumb reason ever since then (it went on for a couple years before I decided that the videos were probably screwing me up) they only said that they found the gay ones. Not any straight at all, which I don't believe.

Yesterday I bought an iPod so it doesn't have a password yet, my friend took it today while I was in the bathroom (during school) and put a gay porn video on it as a joke after unsuccessfully attempting to find an app. It was laughed at and I deleted the page and history. I couldn't figure out how to delete the search history on the app store, though.

Later, I brought my iPod to my mother asking to take it back to the store for help because my music wouldn't download from iTunes. It would just stop right before finishing the download.

She tried to find what was wrong with it even though I told her I already did everything, and she was going to search help (*facepalm* x10) in the part you search apps for. But other searches show below it when you click it, and she saw "gay porn" (*facepalm* x 1000).

She got mad whenever I cut her off to try to explain what happened (she wasn't leaving any time for me to tell her what happened) so I had to sit through this big old lecture about the immorality of porn and she asked me a million times if I'm gay. SHE FREAKIN ASKED IF I WAS EVER RAPED. I kept having to tell her no, she took the IPod (which I bought) and it seems like it would be really weird to explain what happened after an hour and a half long lecture, so I don't know what to do. She really wouldn't believe me anyway, because its been a couple hours and she'll think I just came up with some cover up story. Any ideas on what I can do to let her know I'm straight? And my sister. Because I'm pretty positive she was eavesdropping, and she has already told me that she "knows" I'm gay X-|. Fml

You have already told her. She believes you or she doesn't. Just go on with your straight life.

At 16 you or your friends shouldn't be doing anything with porn. Not even as a joke. Do you have any idea what may have happened if she had brought the iPod into a shop for repair? You and your sister could have been taken away from your parents or you possibly and your friend may have been arrested. Its illegal. Don't worry about what your mom thinks about your sexuality. You're the one that needs to be comfortable with where your at. But porn is not something you should be doing at your age period.

My mother didn't believe that I was a virgin at your age, but I was.
I didn't even try to convince her. Her mind was set.
If you were fascinated with gay sex, so be it. Teens want to know most everything.
Many people think certain people are gay. I had a boyfriend who was one of several roommates of both sexes and I was so sure he was gay at first. I never did figure out why he spent that summer wearing an old girlfriend's teeny tiny hotpants, but he did.
    Just be yourself.
Many girls are tomboyish and dykey. Many boys are delicate and effeminate. Who knows what their preferences are? Who cares?

Wow, this sucks. I'm 16 and a girl and I have friends guy friends that would do that to each other. Also the person above me said porn is illegal and actually it is not for a person 18 years or older, you and your sister would not be taken away if a repair person saw it, one because that would be an invasion of privacy and as long as she is bringing it in and they assume it is hers she would just be rather chagrined. The only way she could get in trouble is if it was child pornography. As for you, if a law official miraculously found out I am not sure what the repercussions are. Most likely nothing serious. As for your family thinking your gay there is not much you can do but avoid the porn and accidental porn. Also get a get a girlfriend, and try to do non-gay like things if that makes any sense. They may at least think your bi-sexual eventually. They shouldn't be discriminative against you especially if you 't haven't said you were gay. You are their son no matter what and screw what the bible says. You can prove them wrong by getting married and make lots of babies. When you find out your wife is pregnant you could keep it secret and send a picture of the ultrasound saying "still think I'm gay?" or "I'm not gay". You put that on the wedding invitation just to them too. Good luck.

You could not be more incorrect.

I'd also like to address the "have babies" way of determining who is straight and who is gay - you've got to be kidding!

Comeandgetme, your advice is very naïve. We could take apart every single sentence. And he's 16! You want him to run out and get married and 'have babies' to prove a point? At 16 it's ludicrous and even in 10 years it is just about the worst reason to bring life into the world that I can think of.
