So far I've followed the wiring directions that came with the new Hunter ceiling fan including a remote. I have coming out of the ceiling a left over white wire and a red wire, not connected to each other. There had been a ceiling fan with a remote and lights that I had removed. Also, it was connected to the wall switch one for fan other light. What do I do with the left over white and red wires?
    Thanks for the help,

So there were 2 whites in the ceiling? Sounds like a switch loop. How was it wired before? With all switches off, is the ceiling black hot? Let us know.

Does this new fan use the existing wall switches?

If the new fan does not require the use of wall switches, then you need to isolate the wires to and from the switches (in the ceiling) and cap them off. Once the wires feeding the switches are disconnected, remove the wall switches, disconnect the switch wires and cap them off. Place the capped off wires back into the box and replace the switch faceplate or plates with a blank cover.

If the new fan needs the wall switches, then you need to tell us what wires go to the switches.
