Why do guys date right after a breakup?
My boyfriend of almost 2 years just broke up with me over text 5 days ago. It was out of the blue. We were fine that morning. The weeks leading up to it, we were okay. We did have arguments over little stupid things every other day though. He broke up with me saying that he just couldn’t do it anymore and he needed time.
He is ignoring me and now it is day 5 and he is 2 days into a brand new relationship with a girl he just met a week ago. He is ignoring me and is refusing to talk to me under any circumstance. He told me that he still loves and cares about me, but yet he won’t talk to me about the situation in person. We were happy. We did everything together and spent so much time together.
Why is he doing this?

Your ex-boyfriend is allowed to do whatever he wants to do now. There are no more ties to you; no more commitments. Not talking to you is the best thing he can do for him and you. Hanging on is not healthy. Move on, go out and have some fun, and start your life going forward.

He found someone he liked better. Happens all the time. Still sucks though, I know. How old are you both?

We are both 17. Yes, teenagers. But we were serious and very mature. The thing I am confused about, is that he is boasting to people that she is so "awesome" and he is just "so happy". It just seems fake. Like he is trying to fool himself into believing that letting go of someone who he loved and did everything with isn't a big deal.

As I said break up sucks, and chance are he has been thinking about this a while but said nothing to you. Doesn't matter how serious or mature you both are because feeling just change, sometime suddenly for various and any reason.

It concerns me when you say (twice) that he is ignoring you. That's what breaking up means. It's for your own good. Maybe you can be friends down the line.
Maybe those little fights every other day weren't so little when added up. The proverbial straw that broke the camel's back. I don't know of course!
It also concerns me when someone makes a huge generalization about either sex. There are millions of guys who grieve for a long time over loss of love.
However, studies of married couples do indicate that men tend to remarry sooner than women remarry. Theories abound about the need for a woman to provide the domestic nest, whereas women tend to carry a torch.
Teens are totally different!

The best thing to do is erase him from your life like he erased you from his. The worst thing you can do it keep on texting and trying to talk to him as that will make him push you away more. I know it's hard, I have been through a similar break up myself at a similar age, but life goes on, you are young, there will be many other guys that will grab your heart in the future, trust me :)

My ex and I have broken up like 6 months ago from a two years relationship but we still used to hang out together during these last 6 months. He constantly used to say that he wanted to leave me. Do you guys have it easier finding another girl after a breakup?

I think that guys have it easier finding another girl after a breakup. Especially if they're the dumper? Guys usually "wine, dine and romance" the girl. If an average guy just watched a "chick flick" and imitated the lead character, they're pretty much golden.
