    Dirt in my water
Within the last few weeks, sand and red dirt have begun to come out of all of the water lines in my house, from the washing machines to the toilets! I have a well that is about 15 years old. It was used for about five years, then sat dormant for ten more. My kids and I moved back to the land it is on about a year ago and started using it. The water has been fine until recently. Any suggestions?

Indications are that the well has caved in. You could try adding a sand trap and filters but not likely to work. Real solution is new well.

Talk to well driller, maybe he could use some kind of high volume pump to pump out the soil that has caved in.
