Heat won't shut off.
I have a totaline P474-1100REC receiver. It was working perfectly, matched to a totaline wireless digital thermostat: P474-1100RF. Now, when I lower the temperature from the thermostat, my furnace won't shut off. The signal to turn on the furnace is sent from the thermostat as indicated by the light flash on the front of the thermostat and received, as indicated by the "heat" indicator on the face of the receiver, and the furnace turns on as usual. When I lower the temperature, the signal is sent and received but the furnace does not shut off. Amazingly, when I remove the cover from the receiver, after about 2 minutes, the furnace DOES shut off as it used to by just lowering the thermostat. Any suggestions?

A few days ago everything worked fine. I left for a few hours and when I came home that night only the fan worked and it wouldn't shut off. Downstairs heat is fine upstair heat won't shut off. Heating guy changed the thermostat and check for shorts in the wires, he doesn't know what it is.
My heat pump runs continually inside in heat mode but the fan motor outside won't run. If I make it cooler in the house (65 or so) it will run properly. If the a/c is on and I lower it to 70 inside the outside motor won't work again but the compressor unit runs. Have already replaced fan motor...
So my dryer does not get hot AND it will not shut off. It will just keep running until you turn it off or unplug it. Everything else works fine. Any ideas?
Does anyone know what I can do? My carrier heater is only 2 years old. As of yesterday the heater unit wouldn't shut off and when I turn the heat up it just keeps blowing cool air.
