    Low blood pressure fluctuations?
Hi I'm 25 years old, female, and have hashimoto's thyroid disease (treated). I do not smoke, only drink wine occasionally, and try to stay active even though I've been fairly inactive for a while (due to the condition I'm about to explain).

I have had problems with low blood pressure for about a year and a half. I understand what low blood pressure is, but my question has something to do with this:
I have blood pressure that fluctuates wildly within the space of minutes. I can go from 102/63 to 85/53 in a few minutes of each other, without position changes or anything to provoke it. This happens all day long, no matter how many times I take my blood pressure, they are almost never the same readings, and by a drastic amount. My pulse tends to do the same thing to a lesser effect. (from 75 to 94, from 58 to 96, all within a few minutes)

My blood pressure can drop pretty low. I will see it drop down to 76/45 quite often. Lately though, it's been dropping even lower.
This week, I have seen it drop to 75/37, 73/39, and tonight, to 65/39! If my bp stayed this low, I imagine hospitalization would be in order. But it just bounces up again within minutes!
I cannot find any information about a condition that would cause this, or even that this is a problem for people at all!
If you know of a condition that causes blood pressure on the low side, and bp that drops and bounces back up constantly, I'd really like to know!

On a side note, I understand that this could be a heart condition. All immediate members of my family have heart disease and / or defects. If there is a specific heart condition you know of , I'd like to hear about it.
If there is another condition not heart related that could cause this, I'd like to know about that too! ( mainly because I suspect hormones could be influencing this problem).

Also, as a small disclaimer: I promise I am not stupid. I have a cardiology appointment scheduled for this, I just like being knowledgeable about possibilities of what could be wrong. Knowing is half the battle and all.

Thanks for any help and ideas!

Knowing is half the battle, Thanks GI Joe! :-D

Knowing is also a double edged sword. We can't know enough so we would be guessing. It would be a shot in the dark. Especially with the history you provided. The way the human mind works will cause you grief because you will automatically believe the worse is happening, especially when it could not be. Knowing what we could suggest the problem will be will only cause you stress.

Knowing this, we can't in good conscience suggest anything. None of us know enough to properly suggest anything nor we can never know enough from you. It is how the internet works.

Sorry. The best thing you can do is talk long with your cardiologist.
